In the lab:
I currently assist trainees in the lab with their experimental work. Recently, I have also started to leverage some of my computational skills to work on transcriptomic data analysis. My goal is to expand my knowledge of bioinformatics to help streamline analytical pipelines and learn more about downstream analyses. About Angelica: I am from Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the United States with my family when I was eight. I began my undergrad at Kennesaw State University and transferred to Georgia Tech to complete my B.S. in Biochemistry. I joined the Whiteley Lab during my last year as an undergrad and worked with Carolyn Ibberson, a postdoc in the lab, on characterizing the diversity of Staphylococcus aureus isolates from the cystic fibrosis lung. I enjoyed my experience with microbiology so much that I joined the lab as a research technician after graduating! |
