Research interests:
Mengshi is interested in bacterial physiology and spatial dynamics of bacterial aggregates, especially Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa). She seeks quantitative ways to describe the biological phenomena under the context of bacterial infections. She is currently working on building a model to correlate bacterial generation times with transcriptional signatures. About Mengshi: She has a background in systems biology and synthetic biology, and experience in wet labs and dry labs. "I would like to explore my new possibility here, to combine both computational analysis and experimental methods together. The QBioS program, which integrates the principals of physical, mathematical and biological science, meets all my expectations". She is devoted to quantitative descriptions of biological phenomena and seeks her own paths to enter academia. "I hope the experience at Georgia Tech will prepare me well for the future." |
